Osogbo Book Club Set To Host Oladejo Haneef And Afeez Olagunju For Her June Reading In Osun State

 

OSOGBO BOOK CLUB SET TO HOST OLADEJO HANEEF AND AFEEZ OLAGUNJU FOR HER JUNE READING IN OSUN STATE

 


Osogbo Book Club (OBC) has set aside 19th of June, 2021 to host two Osogbo based writers, Oladejo Haneef O. (aka) Harnyfman Asishana and Afeez Ayomide Olagunju, in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.

A statement by Godwin Grace, the Coordinator of the club, said the event would take place at the T.M. Aluko House (ANA Osun State Secretariat) Unique Success Academy Annex, Behind WAEC Office, 2 Uncle K Street, Akinlade, Alekuwodo, Osogbo by 12PM prompt.

Oladejo Haneef O, also known as Harnyfman Asishana is a graduate of English language and Education at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti. He is a teacher, poet, writer, and motivator. He loves writing poems with every surrounding theme because his inspiration is driven by the happenings around him. He is friendly and straightforward; he is simple, and simplicity is beheld in most of his works that have found their ways to anthologies, magazines, and journals. He was one of the shortlisted Top 100 Student Poets in Nigeria by the PIN NSPP (Nigerian Students Poetry Prize) Award in 2017.

Afeez Olagunju is the founder of Cereus Publications. He is a graduate of Computer science. He is also a songwriter, innovator and poet. He has featured on various anthologies and has edited and published a host of works.

The forthcoming book reading event promises to be an avenue of book and poetry reading, Spoken words, book sales and signing, networking with fellow book readers and writers across the nooks and crannies of Osun State, the statement added.

Upcoming writers who have works in poetry, short stories and novels can also attend to read their works to fellow writers and readers. Membership forms and Certificate of Membership will be made available free of charge to the first timers.

Osogbo Book Club is an initiative of Society of Young Nigerian Writers. It was established by the Society in order to contribute its own quota towards the growth and development of Reading Culture in Osun State. Osogbo Book Club consists of group of people who get together, periodically meet to discuss the book they have read, and to exchange such books. The members of the club encourage each other, and learn to read with a critical awareness, articulating their opinions on a particular book with the others. Certain types of books not available or read receive attention through the book club.
