Omonitan, Ajao To Headline ANA Osun August Reading

 OMONITAN, AJAO TO HEADLINE ANA OSUN AUGUST READING



The Osun State Chapter of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) has announced that its August 2024 Monthly Reading will feature two Osun based creative writers, Samson Olalekan Ajao and Daniel Ayotunde Omonitan. 


The event is scheduled to take place on the 24th of August, 2024, at Exploit World, Alekuwodo, Osogbo, Osun State, commencing at 12 PM.


This announcement was made in a joint statement issued by the Chairman of ANA Osun, Wasiu Omobewaji Adetayo, and the Secretary, Olaonipekun Olatunde. 


The statement highlights the significance of the event, which is expected to draw authors, poets, and literary enthusiasts from across the state and beyond.


Daniel Ayotunde Omonitan, also known as Digerati_DAO, is a multifaceted creative who excels in communication, storytelling, and science. He leads the content and social media team at Color Sense Limited and previously hosted "The Youth's Council," a talk show addressing issues faced by African youth. A word artist and serial creative, he founded the Poetry and Literacy Society at FUTA, where he inspires others through his literary works and leadership. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology and envisions a future in bioinformatics to advance genetic disease treatment.


Samson Olalekan Ajao, fondly called "Impeccable," is the CEO of Amokoko Consult, a writing service and business consulting firm. A Guinness World Record holder for the Longest Marathon Reading Aloud (215 hours), he is also an administrator, bibliophile, and career coach. Ajao holds a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration and has served in leadership roles, including as President of the SUG at Osun State Polytechnic. Known for his communication skills, he empowers others through coaching and public speaking.


The August reading promises to be a vibrant platform for intellectual engagement, with Ajao and Omonitan leading the discussions. Attendees can look forward to an afternoon of stimulating conversations, poetry recitations, and readings from the authors’ latest works.

The Osogbo Book Club has congratulated Dr. Femi Ademiluyi on his recent elevation to the professorship cadre by Kwara State University, Malete.

The Osogbo Book Club has announced the appointment of Mr. Samson Olalekan Ajao as its Ambassador, in recognition of his outstanding achievement as the current Guinness World Record holder for the longest marathon reading aloud. Mr. Ajao's remarkable feat of completing a marathon read-aloud contest, known as the 'Read-A-Thon,' has garnered international acclaim and admiration.

On May 15, 2024, in the capital city of Osun State, Osogbo, Mr. Ajao shattered the previous record by reading aloud for an astounding 214 hours over nine consecutive days. This achievement surpasses the previous record of 124 hours held by Rysbai Iskanov of Turkey since 2022, marking a historic moment in the world of literature and dedication.

The Osogbo Book Club extended its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Samson Olalekan Ajao for his unparalleled dedication and perseverance in accomplishing this incredible milestone. AZA ARTISTS AND WRITERS MOVEMENT CHANGES NAME TO ULLI BEIER SOCIETY

 


The Aza Artists and Writers Movement, a renowned platform dedicated to promoting the works of artists and writers in our country, is proud to announce its new name: the Ulli Beier Society. The name change reflects the movement's commitment to honoring the legacy of Ulli Beier, a renowned art historian, curator, and promoter of African arts and literature.

Established in 2013 by the late Busari Olaniyi Agbolade (Painter), Adegboyega Tajudeen (Sculptor), and Wole Adedoyin (Writer), the Ulli Beier Society serves as a meeting point for both established and upcoming artists and writers. The Osogbo Book Club has expressed her delight and offered her sincere congratulations to Mr. Abiodun Oloyede on his well-deserved appointment.

The Founder of the Club and President of the Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) acknowledged that the appointment of Mr. Oloyede as the Acting Registrar of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, was a perfect fit for his exceptional abilities and vast experience.

Governor Ademola Adeleke's decision to appoint Mr. Oloyede was met with widespread approval, as he has consistently demonstrated his commitment and dedication to the literary community in Osun State.
